No Merger would be Better for T-Mobile

If no merger occurs, at&T will owe T-Mobile approx. 6 Billion $US. T-Mobile does not need LTE, as the new HSPA+ goes up to 42 Mbps. T-Mobile can use this money / assets it gets to better service, coverage, customer care, everything. It would be better for T-Mobile if this merger did not happen.

its money t-mobile would have spent anyway, hence why it would be owed if the merger fell through.

exactly, it's not like they would be getting an "extra" $6bil in the grand scheme of things. It would be far more lucrative for DTelekom if the merger went through, IMO.

The CEO of DT said if AT&T does not buy us we will shut down tmo. It's not news that they dont make any money and have been operating at a loss forever. The US will lose a ton of jobs and the whole argument of competition is useless because they will go under anyway. Sprints having a fit because they didn't have the money to buy it in the first place. Sprints credit rating is junk and nobody will loan money to a company who can't manage the mess of a network they have now. I hate to tell everyone Tmobile does not have another option.

They don't make money? Do yourself a favor and take a basic accounting class or two before you falsely state something. They actually do make money. Maybe no...

DT would certainly NOT just "shut down" a company that has 39 million subscribers (no one would unless if parent company was bankrupt & had no other choice!) Do you know how much money they take in monthly? T-Mobile doesn't lose money, they just don't make as much as parent DT wants them to make.
