Are just regular SIM cards without the extra plastic. They're 100% compatible with an X-acto knife.

Provided you have the surgical precision required to cut it 'exactly right', which most people do not have.

The only reason Apple likes the micro-SIM is because they want the SIM to be incompatible with other phones so that people are 'locked in' to the iPhone.

Really? I thought they were trying to make this a "standard" meaning that all cell phones would adopt the tech. So I don't follow you on them wanting to lock customers into the iPhone.

The story says they want to move everyone to the micro-SIM, while themselves using s SIM card which is even smaller than a micro-SIM

But let's get real for a second: most customers find STANDARD SIM card sizes too small, especially for those with big fingers....they can spend several minutes struggling to remove a SIM card from a phone....there is no need to make them even smaller.
