Didn't they do the exact same thing?

I'm pretty sure that the bigger companies all petitioned the FCC or sued each other over roaming rights in the past. These companies never had a problem suing or petitioning for what they wanted, so why the double standard?
Let's look at the bigger picture here. Why would Verizon refuse to let another company roam? They would make a ton of money. So are they doing it only to stifle competition?

Leap had this to say about it in 2009:
“Verizon itself has relied on roaming agreements for over two decades as it built out its network and acquired competitors, but now has unilaterally decided that its remaining competitors are only entitled to roaming for two or three years,” Itkin said in an emailed statement.

So it looks lik...

There is no double standard dude. This is about data roaming...NOT voice roaming. No one denies that voice roaming is necessary. Get back on point. I have already explained that to you in another post. Verizon is being consistent here.

Well, I'd have to say first that I don't remember our previous conversation about this matter and I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Second, I don't really see the difference between data and voice roaming considering that Data is the only thing that is really important in 2011 and beyond. Of course Verizon has been consistent, there was no data at all when they were using other carriers to roam. These days data is very important especially when you consider technologies like Voice over LTE. I understand what you are saying about the difference between Voice and Data. But look at it this way, Verizon used analog roaming for years to fill the gaps and provide coverage to it's customers. They used the government to force these carriers into le...

It explains your point, which is the same as Cell Student and Slammer essentially. Basically because VOLTE exists carriers have a right to it even though they do not have the network capacity. I disagree. *Shrug* we're not going to agree on it. Let's see how it plays out.

We must remember that the small carriers can't just use the technology with their current network. They're going to have to spend money to upgrade and adapt to the 4G standard. This isn't cheap.

However, the point is why do it if the larger carriers that hold all the spectrum, are not going to be regulated on roaming as it is currently? That is a huge problem that can't be overlooked. You are condemning these smaller carriers to oblivion.
