Microsoft total revenue for period ending Jun 30, 2010 was $62,484MM. Net income was $18,760MM. So that is 45% of net income for one year. The purchase price will be amortized over several years, does not dilute the MS shareholders interest, so likely will end up in a net increase in EPS.
What puzzles me more is the lack of reaction from those adamantly opposed to the AT&T/T-Mo merger. Why is MS gobbling up others less bothersome to those that complain about AT&T "monopoly"?
