Early Termination...

...is never a good thing. Glad to see these bureaucrats realize that this proposed merger deserves detailed scrutiny and finally the BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!

Actually, in this case Early Termination would shoot the merger down if it didn't pass the scrutinization. So if you oppose the buyout, then this Early Termination is a good thing. 🤣

"The Justice Department can use a process called early termination to approve such deals within 30 days."

To APPROVE...NOT deny. So Early Termination WOULD be BAD!

Please explain the impact in Layman terms of this action of the Justice Department.

I am adamantly opposed to this merger but my fear is that the US consumer cannot truly grasp the impact of this merger and will simply shrug their shoulders and buy another iPhone.

So because you are adamantly opposed to this it’s a bad thing for every American. Is anyone at all thinking of the positive things that could come from such a merger, such as improved networks on both sides for everyone, improved technology with shared funding ect. No of course not everyone just assumes worse case scenario. They said rethink possible for a reason...you just can’t grasp it..

Save it. Skip it. Peddle that drivel elsewhere. That dog won't hunt. Not here. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Not on my watch.

Where shall we begin?

" improved networks on both sides for everyone"

No such think. A pipe dream. T-Mobile's footprint does nothing to improve coverage for AT&T customers. Nothing. Will T-Mobile's customers see improved coverage? Probably, but at the cost of the faster speeds and unlimited date plans T-Mobile offers them. Think of it this way... If T-Mobile customers truly desired the coverage of AT&T...guess what? They would have signed up with AT&T.

"improved technology with shared funding ect"

What? Huh? Could you be more vague please? Nah. Probably not. WHAT IMPROVED TEC...

Azeron,

Curious to know if you have filed your ballot through the 11-65 topic in the FCC open forum?

I see many people have their highest concerns filtering through these forums but wonder how many are using the FCC forum best for their concerns. The one that really matters.

I filed mine on Saturday.

So once everyone rolls out LTE and the 3G's are eventually dissolved wont everyone eventually be on the same general networks? In the long term...does this merger even *matter*?

And as far as recouping some losses and all that, companies that expand by mergers and acquisitions have funds set asside for that right? This wouldn't affect the general income of the company and they wouldn't really *need* to replenish the lost funds immediately unless there was some cataclysmic event with company funds.

No. If T-Mobile remains a carrier they will NOT upgrade to LTE. Where have you been? Never mind. Stop talking out of your *Bleep*hole. NO ONE has 25 billion dollars just lying around to hand over for an acquisition. Even the U.S. government would have to print some ten cent dollars to repay a loan of that magnitude. Your responding to my post with empty words is frankly offensive.

Actually sir before you start spouting off stupid **** why dont you get your facts straight... oh wait you just have opinions...

it will creat new jobs... obvioulsly AT&T will bring over qualified t-mobile employees... AT&T call centers are in America...and they have stated that the t-mobile ones will remain as well... I have worked for both companys...have you worked in cellular at all? for example, At&T will have a bigger 4g network obvously and t-mobile ad ons will enjoy the tiered data structure that will be in place when a full 4g network is up and running as apposed to your verizon and sprint fan boy data structure where you fall from 4g to edge... as apposed to 4g, 3gplus, 3g, then edge... tell me thats not a techniclogicaly adva...

How do you figure the potential merger will create jobs? Bringing "qualified T-Mobile employees" over to AT&T isn't creating jobs. That's simply existing T-Mobile employees being retained after the merger. And I find it highly unlikely that AT&T will find a need to keep on all 40,000+ people currently employed by T-Mobile nationwide. While I concede that some positives may come of the merger, I'm finding it difficult to see how the potential pros outweight the potential cons.

Oh, one more thing. Please explain how Verizon and Sprint would fall from 4G to EDGE. Seeing as how EDGE is part of the GSM network structure and Verizon and Sprint both use CDMA, I'm highly intrigued as to how you can suggest this is possible.

And before you qu...

to Yuradumass... love the name 🙂

First let me start by saying, my post is also "my" opinion... I dont state things as fact but I do feel my basis in the cellular industry gives some insight where fact or not remains to be seen. I have a friend that is currently an outside sales manager for T-mobile in the Arizona market and he told me that t-mobile first before the meger goes through will be paying a bonus to the employess who do not opt out early from there tmobile employment, so right there thats more money for what your already doing due to the merger. I would also say that I have to think with the combonation of tech contracts that new phones will become more often and with more change each time, again this is my opinion.

On the ...

So what are your posts: facts or opinion? Both of these comments were made by you. You ridicule others for posting their opinions, calling it "stupid ****", then immediately state your comments are only your opinion when put to task. I suggest you find one story and stick to it.

As far as what your T-Mobile employed friend told you, he is correct. I, too, as well as every T-Mobile employee, received a correspondence in the mail approximately a week and a half ago regarding the potential merger. It gave us two numbers, a retention bonus and a s...

Last chance, boy. Stop fonting to me. Take it elsewhere. Yeah. I've worked in cellular. Er...let's see...ten years. Likely would be thirteen now. But a merger... Oh yeah, those CREATE jobs thought right? Sure they do. Do you really believe that I would put a scenario down with no factual basis? Do me a favor and STOP posting in my thread. You have no clue.

Your reading comprehension skills need work. I clearly said ten years. The next sentence says it would likely be thirteen were I still in the industry which I am not because of the Verizon/Alltel merger. When I say that I have more than a little knowledge of how this merger is going to go...I mean exactly that.

But then, you are probably what twenty? I've been a registered user on this site for seven years longer than you. I can see now that not only do you not know your *Bleep* from a hole in the ground but like the child you are you are going to keep prattling on about things you know nothing about from now till Armageddon. Forget it. You win kid. Thread's all yours.

Azeron, I lost my job as a long term result of the Dobson/AT&T merger. you know what, it sucks, but I went to indirect and I'm MUCH happier now. You are really crazy against the AT&T/T-mo merger, but why? Seriously though. Does it affect you?

No. I have no personal stake in whether it goes through or not. I simply believe that it is wrong. We know what the outcome i going to be. I don't make a hundred thousand dollars a year either and firmly believe that it is wrong to tax people who do at a higher tax rate. Self interest does not drive my ideology. Fairness does. DT wants out...I get that. Verizon and AT&T both have used their financial muscle to keep outside players from buying spectrum and competing against them and now that T-Mobile is up for sale AT&T is trying to scoop them up to eliminate a competitor. They are lying when they say they want T-Mobile's AWS spectrum. They don't even want the AWS spectrum that they have. Both they and Verizon purchased it to keep ...

Whether employed within the industry or not, this merge will effect the majority of the country's wireless subscribers. Indirect sales will not be exempt. Whatever happens above, trickles down to everything under.

As consumers NOT employed within the industry, I will be the most effected as will Azeron.

Yes I do need to work on my comprehension skills, as to this day I can not read minds. So you know, saying 10 years... oh wait it would be 13, is not clear to anyone but in your mind... 10 is fact... 13 is hypothetical... duh...

Also I don't know if you noticed but this new merger, does not have the name verizon or alltel in it... so having experienced a merger with verizon/alltel does not make you a fact master of cell phone mergers. Your Maybe you are not aware, but this is a message board forum on a cell phone website right? so grammar and spelling are not my highest priority when responding to your nonsense... wanna have a spelling competition? haha..

Yes. They will. Please re-visit my previous thread. They NEED T-Mobiles reps during the transition and some will likely remain with AT&T for years to come, but give it two year and you will see the same thing the Verizon reps saw...job cuts.
