I already returned my Thunderbolt due to GPS issues. I use the GPS a lot, and for me, the 2200 meter accuracy was simply unacceptable. The accuracy would improve if Wifi radio was turned on, but the concept of having Wifi on to improve GPS reception and precision is ridiculous. Not to mention that battery would get drained in only half a day. And of course, Froyo is slow, buggy, and bloated.

I've heard about the GPS issues, but, honestly, I haven't seen them. My T-bolt locks on almost immediately, and it gets a location to anywhere from 16-32 feet, even indoors. I wonder if there have been any chipset changes in later units, since I got mine just over two weeks ago.

I've been following discussion on androidcentral.com of this new firmware ever since it leaked out a week or so ago, and it apparently improves battery life, at least in 3G areas. Also, someone posted that a friend inside VZW said they were prepping Gingerbread to come out around the middle of May. Of course, I'd take that with a huge grain of salt. The rumor is that this update we're discussing will drop tomorrow, which makes me wonder why, if the Gingerbrea...
