They had better roll out a "6.1" or something for the 93**/96**/97**/98** devices. This 1 and a half updates per device is getting very old (the Tour goes from 4.7 to 5, the Bold goes from 5 to 6, etc). RIM needs to wake up, in more ways than one. "That is not fair. You can't mention our lack of updates for an OS/platform that needs it the most of all the major players". Even WebOS switching hands is doing better about updating their OS the RIM/BlackBerry. They better wake the f*ck up. Now...where do I get in line to get this thing? 🙂

I disagree. Very shrewd. They will sell more devices this way.

Doh, I know this. Hence the comment about where to get it. I'm not to concerned about not getting OS7, just that they continue to update (read:fix) OS6

You dont realize how slow the processor in some of those older blackberries are. They couldnt handle it, and it would do more harm than good.

The new BB OS is based on QNX software and shares no common root to the older operating system.

It would be like trying to load Windows 7 on your Commodore 64. The older devices aren't built to handle it.

Blackberry made a big deal out of their software company acquisitions-- namely QNX, TAT and others I can't seem to recall.

I do realize it and distinctly remember stating that we better get some form of 6.1 update. Also, OS7 has nothing to do with QNX. Where do you make this sh*t up?
