I did not use apps from store. I used a site called mobilespeedtest.com
When you do the smaller file size test the throughput is low, but if you do the 1MB or 2MB size file transfer the throughput is substantially better.
I also have noticed that depending on where I am I get different results. I am guessing the network has different back haul depending on the site.
