People will still use their phones. If the courts wouldn't allow such stupid lawsuits they wouldn't have to put warning labels on devices. Cigarettes have a warning that basically states it may KILL you, but foolish people still smoke them. Warnings are just a lawsuit stopper. Anyone who has common sense should know that smartphones, especially those with Google, Facebook and GPS apps, will constantly ping your location.

I usually have my GPS shut off....not due to 'privacy' concerns but because it spares the battery...

The rule that unless you are doing something that requires GPS shut off the GPS seems so commonsensical to me I wonder why it even needs to be said.

the android phones don't need GPS to track your location. GPS can be off but the location settings still have way to track where you are. for example, the weather that is provided on the HTC devices updates to your current location. and also if you were to go to the map it will also show were you are located. it may be off just a Lil but it still tracks your location. You just have to turn off all location settings. It really don't bother me at all. other people just take things way too serious for nothing. But hey, money makes the world go round! 😎 😎 😎 😎

What's really great is a lot of the people who would complain about this are the same that "Check In" everytime they go to the bathroom.

It all boils down to the same thing it always does, theres this saying, and it goes "If you haven't done anything wrong then you shouldn't have anything to worry about."

Besides, GPS can be turned off, it really isn't that hard of a thing to do.

The liberal logic is we can find any reason to limit freedom then let's do it.

"if it saves just one life ......."

True.

The Conservative logic is we can find any reason to limit freedom then let's do it.

"We must protect the nation from it's enemies."

The Libertarian logic is: If freedom is limited...then it isn't freedom.

"Live and let live."

I said this in another post, but if people are so scared of their phone "tracking" and logging their location data, well then they shouldn't own a smartphone.

With the ever growing online social networks that allow you to post your location along with a status update, that automatically creates a link to Google Maps, where you can get directions to said location, you would think the iPhone storing location data on the phone, and on the phone owner's computer wouldn't be a big deal.

Track me all you want, Apple.

That's what you say, but guess what there is a certain thing called Liberty. We're going to press for that. It's none of your business why I don't want to be located and I won't have my phone tracking me and I WILL have a smartphone. You people are downright scary with your sanctimoniousness.

if you have a android phone then turn off all locations so you won't have this problem. this includes GPS, Google share location, and the location setting also. turn all 3 off and you won't have this problem but a lot of apps will not be able to function. but hey you won't be tracked.

Clearly no one will be convinced to switch sides of this issue, so I'm done throwing punches underwater with this. If you don't want to be "tracked" then have fun with an expensive smartphone that won't do half of what it's capable of because you chose to turn off location data.

Until my credit card information, PIN numbers, bank informatino etc. become compromised, I'm not worried. Track me all you want, Apple.

They forgot the following text. "The reason you're being tracked is so that when martial law is declared later this year, you can be hunted down like an animal, placed in a boxcar, and sent to a FEMA concentration camp."

Hell, half of these people would voluntarily walk into a cage to be protected.
