FCC Slaps Protective Order on AT&T / T-Mobile Documents
IT IS AT&T's PEROGATIVE

If AT&T has $39 billion to acquire t-mobile it's between the two companies... I don't understand why ppl stick their nose in someone's business...
When the results are trending towards a monopoly, oligarchy, or cartel- it is everybody's business!
If they don't want t be subject to government regulations, they shouldn't try to consolidate an already not-sufficiently-competitive industry.
This will ultimately end up with influence by more than just the FCC, the Supreme Court, Congress, etc.
Or would you trust only AT&T along side Verizon and Sprint to serve so much of something the Government is now deeming a "necessity"? Neither is perfect, and I trust neither entirely, but I do not believe removing a choice in service is going to be for the benefit of the American consumer. If it was purchased by another party, not already inside of the industry, with capital to give them a boost, and get a stronger network rollout into other areas they dont have service, ...

I agree with vincents perspective on this, I have ATT and i can say it has it's up and downs. For one the cost is substantial. For example on the cheapest att iphone family plan I pay me and my wifes iphone4 total is $160 a month. I know it is rediculous, but you get what you pay for. ?
It's not that bad of a deal if you got the Family Messaging Unlimited with Mobile to Any Mobile Calling feature. I have the 3,000 minute family plan on T-Mo with 2 myTouch 4G's and pay about the same amount after the taxes.
After the this merger/acquisition thing I got to thinking what if us T-Mo subs were forced to choose a plan and the 700 minute family plan with family msg unlimted with mobile to any mob...

it even works in the bay near south padre island, and thats because it is the only carrier that has service out there, all the other chaps that have sprint,t-mobile,verizon, have no service.. thats when i hand them my phone and say..."want to use a phone that works"?
How are you saying there are options at the same time that youre saying its the only carrier that works there??? I dont believe that you dont work with or for ATT not for one second.
Whats going to change after the merger then?
Maybe the competitors will focus on being... competitive???
The biggest thing is the exclusion of choice, we will be losing a NATIONAL provider, one of few. This is bad any way you look at it.

It's not about making competition less by t-mobile being gone...
YES that is EXACTLY what AT&T is trying to do. Go read a book or something dude.
How is a major shift in the landscape of the American cell phone market not Sprint's business?? Oh i know..cuz you are retard..smh.
When a business gets too large the government not only can, but has, pulled the companies apart. They would be creating one of these so-called behemoths at the cost of tax dollars (time to approve this counts, and it will cost a fortune, nothing in the government is cheap), only to turn around in a short amount of time (I would wager less than a decade), and waste huge amounts of tax dollars again tearing it apart to make sure the market remains competitive.
This is silly to do, and should never be allowed. Sprint shouldn't be allowed to buy it either, the entity needs to remain owned by some other entity, not someone already in ...
