Test dummy

And this is why it's too early to be begging for 4G iPhones, Android or anything else. Go ahead, be the test dummy. By the time its perfected there will be better devices. Right now it's still in it's early phase, coverage isn't great and it drains battery way too fast. I think I'll stay with 3G for now. At least I know it works.

Except if you are on Sprint... Then 3G is actually 1XRTT data, and the fastest speed you MAY get averages 120kbps. If you think thats okay, then sure go ahead and stick with 3G.

From what i hear in these forums? Verizon drops out of 3G more. And i personally havent seen a phone drop to 1X in about 4 yrs at least on Sprint.

That is definetly good to know!!! 1x is far, far worse than GSM's EDGE.

There is still plenty of time before I consider a switch. I am waiting to see if there will be a follow-up to the Epic. I really, really want my next smartphone to have a Super AMOLED display!

Ive stared at an EVO and EPIC numerous times side by side while bored at work. And while i admit the EPIC does look better, it doesnt look drastically better the way everyone hypes it up to be anyway...at least to me.

Im excited to see how the qHD (or whatever they call it) screen on the EVO 3D looks.

Yeah, with reguards to qHD displays, it's really amazzing how fast things are moving. LG2x & EVO 3D are 2 good examples of how fast things are moving.

I suspect you're having an individual problem with your handset the way you talk about dropping to 1x all the time.

Are other Verizon users in your area having exactly the same problems? Are you running rooted?

No, not rooted, I'm a tech geek, but not geek enough to do that. And yes Ißve done the *228 thing recently.

Now with reguards to other Vzn smartphone users in Las Vegas, I'm not sure, I haven't asked around. I should though.

Biggest myth in the business:

"Just dial *228, that will help with your dropped connections."

Don't let anyone ever sell you that load of crap again.

It's only true if you are in an area where there are no Verizon towers within 10 miles of where you're standing.

That's kinda what I thought considering it is referred to as a roaming update.

Damn it dude, the U.S. is yet !!AGAIN!! made to look pathetic. I saw a headline on Engadget that a !!150mbps!! LTE network is being launch in Canada. All of a sudden Vzn's LTE isn't so blazzing

I like how you made sure to add "averages" to cover your arse. I'm sorry, have you seen a Sprint phone say 1XRTT when you're online? I didn't think so...

Yikes! That sort of stuff scares me away from considering Sprint.

Verizon's so-called "America's most reliable network" drops to 1x quite a bit, so what I started doing recently is just powering off and powering back on.

Sprint never goes in and out of 1X unless your signal is super weak. Sprint's EVDO Rev A is great. WiMax needs a nationwide build out.
