I think it's more the media trying to hype up something that really doesn't matter.

"But Apple is spying on us!!!'

No, they are not.

Exactly.

Apple is doing nothing that breaches security or privacy of iPhone owners.

The full Q&A gives a very detailed explanation about what location data is being collected, by what means, and why they collect such data.

I think the software update Apple plansn to release is uneccesary. If people don't want their location data "tracked" and logged, they shouldn't own an iPhone (or any smartphone for that matter). As phones become capable of new features, they will most likely need to gather new information/use new technology in order to optimize those features.

I agree. It's getting stupid. It just shows how easily scared people are these days. It stores info on your computer and cell phone...not your neighbors iTunes account, not the FBI, not Obama (I hope). And the average user probably doesn't even know how to find the file, advanced users yes but not simple users.

The media is overdoing it and even showing where the file is, so now EVERYONE knows where to find your privacy. Either way you have to use a program to map it out. We have worse things to worry about. I just hope people would quit living in fear over stupid stuff. Don't give people access to your iTunes account, problem solved. 🙄

i dont know why this comes as any suprise? its a mobile phone it is tracked all the time just to recieve a connection, yes they are storing the info but only on the device and computer itself.

it could fall under the same rational as, i could look at your bank statements and see your spending habits and the locations at which you spend you money i could even go online and see your records from months ago sooo....protect your own info and always be suspicious to a degree but not overly paranoid!
