Best accurate review to date- The "Q" gets a F

by jcson777    Jun 5, 2006, 2:58 PM

I was pleased to see someone actually critique the Q as it should be and not just join in the hype. Ditto on the user unfriendly keyboard and scroll device, they ruin the Q, as does the funciton buttons atop the keyboard that are not raised but flat and surrounded by plastic line seperaters that get in the way when pushing these in(very poor design), as well as the navigation in the middle which is difficult to use the down function because of the plasitic round unit that is used as opposed to seperate buttons. I have had my Q to test out since 6/2 and can say without a doubt that it is going back. $45 per/mo unlimited DATA PLAN THAT YOU MUST HAVE IN ORDER TO USE WEB BROWSER(OR .015 per/kb if you want $1500 phone bills), NO BRIGHTNESS CONTROL, WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER MOBILE STUTTERS ALL THE TIME, PHONE FREEZES UP WHEN USING, VIDEOS TAKEN NOT SHOWN AT FULL SCREEN SIZE, SPEAKERS IN BACK OF PHONE SO YOU CANT HEAR WHEN WATCHING ANY VIDEOS WITHOUT VOLUME WAY UP, SPEAKER "CRACKLE" SOUNDS, VERY USER UNFRIENDLY, USELESS REPETITIVE ITEMS IN PROGRAM MENUS, NO SHORTCUTS TO DO FUNCIONS LIKE "KILL" PROGRAM WITHOUT GOING THOUGH MENU, OH AND YEAH YOU MUST USE YOUR BLUETOOTH EARPIECE BECAUSE IT SUCKS TO HOLD THIS PHONE TO YOUR EAR. No wonder it took them over a year to bring this to market so now Verizon can be their usaual two years behind in technology on their phones. So how come someone has not figured out how to integrate the "Birthday" entry in the contacts list with the "Calander" so they automatically appear(I know not a Motorola issue but a MS issue but still). I owned the Motorola V710 before this so i have no patience for glitches. And before the V710 I owned the Kyocera Palm smartphone since 5/01. THAT IS FIVE YEARS AGO AND AM STILL WAITING FOR A WORTHWHILE WINDOWS PHONE, I THOUGHT THE Q MIGHT BE IT BUT IT FALLS WAY SHORT. WHY CAN WE CONSUMERS NOT GET EVERYTHING WE WANT IN ONE PHONE?? THE TECHNOLOGY IS HERE ALREADY BUT WE ARE STILL GOING BACKWARDS-
