google does the exact same thing. android and iOS are one in the same.

Android has the option to turn it off and on, also it makes you aware and asks for consent to share locations. Apple was doing this without consent and knowledge with the end user, also apple hasn't made any statement over this controversy as of yet.

well, thats not true. every app that i download to my iphone asks permission to share my location. you can also turn off location services entirely on your iphone. settings > locations services > slide to off.

now i dont know if that keeps apple from compiling that info.
