Stop blaming others for your own shortcomings. You got yourselves into the mess that you're in. Now you want waste millions of dollars by taking on Ma Bell? What are you stupid? Ma Bell has Washington bought already. This is a done done nobody how you slice it.
Why don't you put the money you're using to fight the merger to much better use like improving your crappy WiMAX network or doing a deal with LightSquared.
Cause honestly, Sprint you're in over your heads. Ma Bell will eat you alive and when she's through, you're gonna begging for Big Red to save you only Big Red doesn't need or want you.

Will to let everyone know i'm a tech for towers incor which bought out everyones towers but verizon and sprints. so i'm an at&t customer and to tell you there services suxs bad that why they want to buy t-mobile out but what i heard is that sprint is looking to by towers incor out and if they do then everyone better look out cause they can control the power that everyone gets. i heard that verizon and sprint might be mergering of sprint and us it doesnt matter which ever they merge with will make them good service wise. at&t needs to sell out cause they are the highest around for there bad service

Lord... sorry, I thought I had posted that under Marten12's absurdly long, gibberish comment.
...
heheh you did but i dont understand that either ( i re=read it 100 times)
...
Me neither. Is there some sort of company called "Incor"?
There sure are a whole lot of people who don't read what they typed before posting.
...
there might be. i used to read what i wrote instead i just type whatever comes to mind at 11pm π

And a bored person in Las Vegas is glad your still up @ 11pm π

hahha. yea i know . you would be bored out of your mind.

Well, there's always that πNEW π offical CNN Android app to help me offucpy my time.
It's about damn time CNN cought up with the times of Android! ! !
FOX NEWS has had an official Android app out for at least 8 months!
Now I'd like to see a Jon Stwart app from Comedy Central.
...
Variety, variety, variety. I take in news from all three. MSNBC, CNN, ...AND FOX NEWS.
The one I like the least would probably be MSNBC, Rachel Maddow grosses me out! Chris Matthews is ok though.
...
Of course CNBC, your a financial sort of person. Their Android app sucks though. I mean really sucks. It's just so plain. There's no videos.
...
of course π i have to like CNBC and bloomberg π i dont have an android i use blackberry π its nice stuff.

Oh,. . .I'm sorry for you that you use BB! βΉοΈ
I am so, so much looking forward to upgrading. Frinkin twice today I got "Low memory" warnings. And I've been noticing that newer smartphones have a good amount of internal memory.
I'm kinda near City Center right now. I'm a huge fan of that place. I love the architecture, Very modern. Are you familiar with that place @ all?
...
i need to use my BB π
...
BB's have such small screens.
...
i have the torch; it meets my business and personal needs π
...
BB is a very, very deept, detailed, and thorough OS.
So are you familiar with City Center in Las Vegas? Aira, Vdara. Crystals Mall? Very, very spectacular architecture.
...
nope. just the vegas strip π
...
When was the last time you were hear? City Center opened December 2009. I was @ the grand opening.
...
hear or here? lol i donno like a few years ago.
...
Oh, well City Center is located right in between Bellagio & Monte Carlo. Has 6 high rise multi-use bldgs, A 500,000 sq ft mall called Crystals. It cost $8.5bln, and unfortunatly parent owner MGM-Mirage had to get financial help from Dubai, I don't. The middle east being involved in U.S. business affairs.
...
are you a part of the investment? π
...
No. I've got other things to do with my money. Like spend it on Amazon π
...
I've used both Android and BlackBerry. Android isn't all it's cracked up to be, but that's a whole other post....
...
I think BB is a very deep, thorough, and detailed OS.
I just think it's sad that RIM refuses to make a smartphone with a screen bigger than 2.8 inches.

incor of company. good service for bad areas. give them government money becuase the sprint and that is why incur has for offices in area. congress buys verizon and sprint to store for att run.

If they do, then everyone better look out because they can control the power that everyone gets. I heard that Verizon and Sprint might be merging. It doesn't matter. I agree, Sprint deal with your own issues, because they can't cut the nut to buy TMO, so everyone else shouldn't be able to. Maybe Hesse needs to fly down to Havana and attend the Party Congress with Raul and ask him for help. And btw, if he goes, bring me a box of Partagas Lusitania' back.
...
I wonder what AT&T's reaction would have been had this been a Sprint/Verizon merger? Wait a minute, we may find out after all.
...
i'm with att, if i going to switch, it either verizon or tmobile! sprint never comes up in my mind! verizon has LTE, tmobile has 42mb hspa+. sprint has wimax, isnt wimax average speed is about 6mb only?
...
I have a Sprint 4G MiFi device. In the real world I get 3Mbps regularly with some bursts to 8. It's fast enough considering there are no caps and no BS.
...
To be honest, I have to agree, if I was to get a solid 4 to 6 down and 2 up everywhere, I'd be quite happy. Outside of tethering, on a phone, even iOS or Android, there is nothing you could do with that, that 20 down wouldn't do.
...
Ah. . .I call it "peace of mind". Knowing that when I'm watching videos, you know, a certain type of videos, that it WON'T stop to buffer,...ever!
...
Doubtful at those speeds.
...
I get about 7 to 10 down on my evo. But you will never see anything like 42 mbps on hspa+ in the real world. Everytime I've tested wimax against hspa+ wimax has won. VZW on the other hand is a whole other thing.
...
it can be reached if they put the amount of spectrum and carriers. will they? doubt it.
...
i know π the clock is on
...
It's not the technology that's slower, it's the frequencies ability to deliver the technology.
I'm well aware that averages are far more important, but I have gotten 15mbps a few times using a Clear modem.
...
...if Verizon were to attempt to buy Sprint they should be slapped down too. There would be nothing to be gained for a Verizon/Sprint merger.
...
I just have to save enough money to buy enough Verizon stocks so I can reap the benefits.
...
oh i highly disagree with your statement.. a merger between those two will be excellent in every single level.

I bet very little, they would have probably got something in trade, some markets, some spectrum.

Putting fanboyism aside I would like to hear someone give an honest answer as to how this merger would help out the regular consumer? Pointing fingers at sprint is so easy but who misses the whole point. I feel bad for the tmobile customers who i believe are going to be getting shafted. I don't doubt either that the deal will go through but we will all end up losing in the end and the corporations will end up Winning

This. Quoting because it deserves to be stated again.

there is always good and bad in life!
i'm currently att customers, with this merger i will able to connect to att AND tmobile towers!
believe me, i been to places where there' no att signal, only tmobile signals show up. i'm unable to connect cus att wont allow it. with merger i can !
...
Nobody believes that ish.
...
short term yes it would be nice for you to have increased coverage and I bet thats what att will be selling this merger as but long term you and everyone in this country will be with less choice because of decreased competition. T mobile and Sprint are known to push for new things that att and verizon would take years to even try out like new phone technology or plan pricing.
...
is English your first language, cause you are butchering it
...
This doesn't help the consumer...point blank. AT&T is banking on the empty promise of better coverage for "the consumer" to get the horse and pony show to go through. In certain areas where AT&T has significant coverage/spectrum issues, this may have an impact. But this "benefit" does not justify swallowing up an entire national carrier. If large corporations could be trusted to carry thru on their promises AND offer fair and reasonable pricing to the same customers that allowed them to get this far, it would be different. But we all remember how text messages went from 10 cents per to 15, and then 20 in a period of about 6 months, for absolutely no reason at all except to coral consumers into getting a text bundle. I use that as an ex...

I sort of feel sorry for those who will lose their jobs. I doubt TMO customers would see very little changes in their plans for a few years after the merger. The trend in the long term is for prices to go down. Mobile prices with less providers at present is cheaper then 10 years ago over all. Not talking about some special deal that was offered or some corporate price, or one time offers. But all over. What has made costs seem to go up, is smartphone, feature phones and texting plans.
...
Agreed. One more excellent reason this merger should not be allowed.

Dear at&t,
I hate you on a personal level. I hate your horrible customer service. I hate your horrible coverage (my area) I hate your lies. I hate your logo, I hate your ads more than anything. I hate your guts, stores, employees and everything that deals with you.
Dear big red,
I hate your phones. I hate your bloatware you force on phones. I love your commercials that spanked at&t. I hate your high cost of service.
Dear lady in pink,
I love you. I love your cheap plans, I love your pre-paid phones. I love your Nokia love. I love your logo. I love everything about you! (except your small coverage) π’
Dear stereotype urban phone carrier (boost),
I love your ideas. I love your rates. I hate your coverage, I hate your ad...

Ma Bell has been trying to eat Sprint(Brown Telephone) alive since 1899. They have never even come close. It was actually because of companies like Sprint that Ma Bell was carved into baby bells. I wouldn't underestimate Sprint in this.
...
If anyone knows where ATT is coming from or what their REAL intent is with this acquistion, it would be Dan Hesse. He spent 23 years with the carrier and rose to the top as CEO. He knows what they're thinking.
I commend his stand on the truth behind the reasoning. If you are a consumer in the wireless industry, I would divert your energy away from the carrier bashing and focus it towards what is right for your wallet.
---"Ma Bell will eat you alive"---
I think that is what Sprint is trying to prevent and what I would be fighting against as well.
John B.
...
John, Sprints bottom line is exactly the same as AT&T, VZW or any other carrier. Its to make money, and beat the competition. Don't fool yourself, if this was reversed Dan would be touting its merits.
...
I was against Sprint buying T-Mobile as well.
...
Versed,
Whether Dan touts his merits if the tables were turned, is irrelevant in this case. We all know what position he would take. π
My opinion has to do with energy exertion.
The issue currently at hand, is another piece in the competitive market is on the chopping block and could potentially be swept away by the second largest carrier. This proposes a problem for consumers and Dan is expressing my exact thoughts.
The energy expelled in degrading a carrier, does nothing to keep this acquistion from happening. It only promotes a wish to dance around the real issue and share a dislike of the carrier without thinking about the repercussions an acquistion of this magnitude would have on the consumers.

Sir,
It seems to me that you feel Sprint does no wrong. As well as if one has a different view of the merger, they're are idiots. Now, as I posted before, many first world countries do quite well with 3 carriers. If Sprint can't come to the plate with something worthwhile, its their fault, nobody else's. And oddly, I do think they will do just fine, or even better.
People speculate here about many things, here is mine. I think Sprint is afraid that some or a good percentage of the combined company's 1700 and 1900 spectrum, will be sold to companies like MetroPCS to improve their footprints, as well as deal with any divesture agreements. That would effect Sprint.
And last, if Sprint wants to bulk up and they should, US Cell...

What?
...
This is neither silly of Sprint nor are they blaming others for their shortcomings. Does Sprint have shortcomings? Yes. Have they made dumb (read: insane) business decisions in the past? Yes. The two points however are not related. If AT&T acquires a significant portion of T-Mobile it would create a great imbalance. I would not call it a duopoly on its face, but it would give the 2 carriers in question significant power to squash competition that I do not believe they can be trusted with. This would leave Sprint in a bad position of being the only national "budget wireless" option and its rank as #3 in the U.S. would be made less relevant. Sprint is well within it's right to fight this merger, regardless of the low likelihood of it'...

AceX,
Of course AT&T would be bitching. And thats exactly the point.
...
I know, thats why I said it. And AT&T would have a right to bitch, same as Sprint is now.

Wrong, only Dan Hesse has the right to bitch, nobody else. After all these idiots think that AT&T is the anti-christ. The truth is, they're all the same. And you might even think me crazy, I happen to admire Dan Hesse, he's done a lot for Sprint. And if I could tolerate being on cdma, I would be with them.
