None of this benefits the consumer

And per my headline, none of this will benefit the consumer because...

1. Sprint STILL will pay Clearwire a fee for devices that are 4G capable, regardless if they can access 4G or not.

2. Sprint still wont waive any fee associated with 4G when 4G or even Sprints own 3G doesnt work or slows to a speed deemed unusable.

3. Volume pricing means nothing to the consumer since we arent going to actually pay LESS for 4G even if its costing Sprint and Clearwire LESS to deliver

4. Clearwire is STILL broke, and 4G WiMAX (even their 4G LTE) have all but stalled across most areas of the nation, and where service is launched it is only on select city blocks of launched markets and rarely gets the advertised speeds.

5. EVERY SINGLE company ...

Other than the obvious that Sprint is using this 4G to cover its phones...how does any of this news directly effect consumers good or bad (as your rant is going on about)? But just to try to clarify a few things.

A. With this money clear wire can keep expanding its 4G, which was one of your complaints. So a plus for consumers.

B. Sprint charges $10 on all smartphones, so your comment about a "4G charge" is completely pointless.

C. If your sole desire was to find some reason to complain about Sprint and/or clearwire, you at least accomplished something. You probably could have found a better board to do it on though.

Oh while it would be great to just flp a switch and go LTE they cant exactly turn off Wi-max and abandon their current and upcoming wi-max based phones. Theres no immediate need to jump to LTE overnight, especially when the speed differences arent that significant.

Remember this deal is only going to get them through 2012...who is to say what Sprint will do after that, especially with the network over haul they have planned.
