Shooting themselves in the foot!

Logically speaking T-Mobile makes the claim the the average 4G user uses about 1GB of data per month, however, if their 4G is as fast as they claim users would reach that allotment rather quickly. or would they? I don't know, maybe I just enjoy play devil's advocate too much.

The speed of the download does not have anything to do with how much data is used (Aside from a person wanted to be online more 😛 ) . An example is 2 cars going to the same store but one car going 35mph and the other car going 50mph will still travel the same distance even though one is going faster.

That was my point, if you use their faster 4G speed, won't they reach that 2GB destination faster?

At the sametime, if you can load videos and the like faster you will have more time to be able to access more information, therefore using more data. Kind of a catch 22. Using the other guys rational, if one car goes faster than the other, they can get their errands done faster and have more time to drive other places.

most users even on the faster network only use about 1-1.5 unless they are tethering but tmobile offers a tethering package

Maybe it's just me but, if you're using 4G and happen to go over the 2gig limit and get throttled, that would put you at about 3G speed. Still not a bad thing overall. I see it being a problem for those customers who have phones that double as mobile WiFi hot spots. Tethering multiple devices might become an issue, when it comes to surfing speed or downloading, though. Other than that, I don't see too much of an issue for most users.

If you have the tethering/ WiFi hot spot on your plan (extra 14.99 a month) then you won't get hit with the reduced speeds. But that might defeat the purpose of taking the cheap plan... LOL

not really becuase you would be paying 100 for unlimited with the regular plan and 15 for tethering so 115 as apposed to 95 still cheaper than just unlimited but with no cap then or atleast i beleive its 10gb
