Just because there is a roaming agreement in place, that doesn't mean you have unfettered access to the opposite network. In many places, AT&T does not allow roaming on T-Mobile, so instead your phone will not fall into roaming, but simply have no service if native service is not available. I'm sure the same is true of T-Mobile customers.
In Atlanta, AT&T users *cannot* roam on T-Mobile. This also seems to be the case in most places when I've tried to manually switch the network to see if roaming is availa...

1.att will have to divest spectrum in markets where the coverage is redudant with tmobile
2.att will dismantle tmobiles AWS service and replace tmobile's 3G with LTE. Tmobile coverage is effectively transformed into LTE footprint.
In conclusion if you are on tmobile your 3G phone will be rendered useless unless you have a quadband phone...(or you will have to buy an att phone) Your coverage in fact will decrease.
If you are with att, you will not get tmobile's coverage, you will get future LTE coverage but neither company offers lte phones.
What both customers will see is.... higher numbers in their bills 🤣

If I were you, I would make a complaint to ATT and have them start using the spectrum they already have in storage. Chances are, they hold spectrum in your area and beyond but have chosen not to build on it. They could have given you better coverage all along. All the money subs have been shelling out to ATT and all ATT has done, is sit on an asset that could have been used to the customer's needs. You want coverage? Tell ATT to utilize what they have first.
This would be a far better solution for the consumers rather than ATT gobbling up T-Mobile. Short term gains will end up being long term disadvantages for consumers.
