Huawei May Build U.S. Cellular's LTE Network
Hmmm
However, does Huawei have a good track record for telecom equipment? They make sub-par smartphones, hopefully they do better with their telecom.
Huawei is more of a telecom network builder than a phone builder. They have build some of the bigger systems in the world. It's their specialty.
One problem is the that the US wants free trade, free trade, free trade, but want to find excuses to block foreign companies from building things here, while the US wants to build everything everywhere while saying it's free trade.
This and other blatant violations in the past, along with their direct connections to the chinese government, has really tarnished their image.
The worry is that, taking in account all of the shady crap they have done in the past/present, letting them into our core telecom networks is going to be a major boon for chinese intelligence. I don't think anyone is going to let this fly, especially with the backdoors put into place for the PLA. Other countries have kicked these guys out in the past by other government's intelligence agencies, and it would be a real ...

Huawei has had a rocky past. in 2004, they were making Cisco router knockoffs running IOS....but they forgot to search and replace any of the cisco copyright messages! Whoops.

This amounts to the exact same thing that Google is being accused of by Oracle. Google stole many Java source codes to build Android. It wasn't an accident or an oversight either. It was blatant. So when are you jumping on the "let's shut down Google" bandwagon? Oh wait, Google is an American company so it must be okay for them to steal. I'm also pretty curious as to what other "blatant violations" this guy is talking about because Google is pretty quiet on anything like that. So it looks like you agreed w...

That's what I typed.
You also typed "nice post". Too bad "snide" doesn't mean "correct". You would have it made then. Why on earth would you ask me to prove the facts in my post and not this one? Is it because you assume all anti-chinese propaganda is true? Thank God you don't represent most Americans.

By all means. Just let 'em do whatever they want. Maybe we should vote you in as President. I'll be moving to Canada, though.

I wouldn't say US Cellular is too far behind yet. They don't have a huge footprint and can proabably cover a lot of their customers fairly quicklly.

Oh boy.
You do realise that almost the entirety of Motorola's 3G network equipment is Huawei, right? Yes, in the US and all over the world.
You are right. The US is not a communist country. The US isn't a confederate racist redneck country either. So give that up.

Unless you have actual facts to back up what you've just said, I'll consider it pure crap.

The last article talks specifically bout how Motorola has been selling Huawei's network equipment under its own branded name.
It took only a minute to look this up using Google. You seem like a resourceful guy. Why couldn't you find this yourself? Any more snide short sighted comments?

If our government is concerned about this transpiring, why the doubts? Take a long walk off a very short pier.
That snide comment was okay, but I think you are already running low on witty retorts.
And for the record, the "concern" was raised by eight US Senators. That's hardly the entirety of our government. And the only "tie" that Huawei has to China's government is the founder of Huawei was a member of the Chinese Army man...
