Hot darn! Let me just drop my iPhone and unlimited data and get on this iDEN thing. I'll be able to use walkie-talkie communication. Then again, I may waste money on it because nobody uses it!

Gee, cellgeek82, thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll get an iphone with an unlimited data plan so I can waste my life away fiddling 24/7 with my friends and getting no real work done. 😳

You go right ahead and "drop your iphone" - see what happens to that overpriced vanity device. Try dropping it from, say, the roof, onto a concrete driveway. 🤣

While it may be true that SoLINC isn't popular with consumers, it is very popular with businesses, especially those with employees in the field. These companies don't care about data, apps, and the like; they want reliable voice connectivity with their employees, and SoLINC's coverage is about the best of any carrier around here. And I do know this firsthand, since I used to work for an organization that used them. Their phones are bulky, their data is slow, but for voice, you can't beat them, and they're used a lot here. We tried out VZW's PTT service, and while they do a great job with traditional voice and data, they can't hold a candle to iDEN in terms of PTT.

So, just because you and your friends don't use them, don't assume that...
