I kinda think he is bored and looking for something to do for the next 12 months, lol. The merger would make sense if at@t would release more info on what maybe some of the plans would look like. They have conceded they will give up some spectrum, which should be blocked from verizon. I also think everyone is jumping the gun a bit with bashing anyone in this situation. We all need to wait a bit and see what either company, plus big brother is going to do or say. Just my opinion

The Commish. Personally, I think that this will hurt the consumer and benefit bit AT&T and Sprint. I think now Sprint will be the only "cheaper" option and will gain a lot of Tmo customers.

I do agree, my other question is why is everyone bashing at@t when tmobiles parent company has been talking about selling them for almost two years. It was bound to happen at some point, and any other merger would not make sense bc of the technology that they use. Try explaing to people how a CDMA/GSM conversation would work would be almost mind numbing.

No one really complained when Verizon bought Alltel or whomever so they can publish their stupid coverage map. Besides, TMO has been losing money for quite sometime now, who better suited to buy and save them??? Keep government out of the affairs of capitalism.

Yes, I agree too. The government should just stay out of the way of business altogether. They should let VZW, ATT & Sprint all merge and then charge us $500 a month for a single line of service. That would be great capitalism. The government should just focus on fighting wars against third-world countries. I mean that's what we pay taxes for!

Absolutely!!!
$500/month for a single line with a $100 activation fee.
$1000 ETF and the cheapest data plan is an extra $100/month.
All the while the stuffed suits in their posh offices sit back and worry about where they are going to spend their next vacation and ponder their 6 digit bonuses.
Consumers carry the K-Y Jelly while corporate management carries cherry flavored condoms.

WTF is everyone bitching about at&t buying t-mobile for? If you don't like the price of them or any other carrier then don't use them,it's as simple as that..No one is forcing anyone to buy or have a mobile phone/device.Sure their nice to have, but if they get to pricey then don't use it.

We are voicing our opinions in this forum the same as you. Is it truly that difficult for you to comprehend? You certainly have no shot at shutting us up. You are most welcome to try though.

While government typically fails at every thing it attempts, in this case I will disagree with you. Protecting the people is paramount. In this case AT&T is about to begin a gang rape on John Q. Public. Hence as a last ditch effort to avoid this I sadly will accept assistance from even bumbling politicians. The answer is no. Thanks for trying to shut down dissenting opinions though. You do you...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a 5 line family plan with Family 1600 minutes for $149/month. Prices for plans have been going down steadily in the last 20 years. Plus add unlimited messaging for $10 extra dollars and unlimited Mobile to ANY mobile for $10 extra...how can you beat that???? Add to that unlimited data for Iphone and Droid for $25 / line. You guys must have not had a phone back in the late 80's where the average bill per line was like $400 bucks even in the 90s when texting became big. I am VERY happy that my bill with virtually everything unlimited (texts email calling) for 5 lines with taxes and all the BS comes to about $280 a month. I personally don't care for Verizon and Tmobile, as I remember travelli...

What is good or bad depending on which side of this you're on. By him making this statement, he may have to recuse himself from this decision.

Nope. That does not reflect how the process works. Much of the evidence that the FCC Commissioners will use to form a majority decision about the proposed merger is already a matter of public record. If Commissioner Copps has formed a preliminary opinion based upon available evidence, by no means does he have to recuse himself from the proceedings.
