Review: Nokia C7 Astound

I certainly disagree that it's biased. Even though we try to write very in-depth reviews, we can't possibly cover every last feature, especially ones that very few people use. (Have you actually used USB-OTG?)

I will address NFC, specifically, though.

We thought about the NFC issue, the problem is that Nokia and T-Mobile haven't announced or promised any specific NFC services or functionality for this phone.

Google is actively encouraging devs to write NFC apps and rolling out services of its own for Android phones with NFC.

T-Mobile has talked about deploying NFC in the US, but hasn't promised that the Astound will support them. In fact, when I asked T-Mobile about it at CTIA, they said specifically that "new phones will be out by the time those services are available." To me, that says that anyone looking for an NFC phone for T-Mobile might be premature in buying the Astound. Until T-Mobile rolls out some actual use for it, and confirms the Astound will support it, no one should buy this phone on that basis.

(And really, why would T-Mobile or Nokia spend much effort on new NFC software for Symbian when the platform is all but dead?)
