As I have been involved in the wireless industry for 8 years, and have been a part of a carrier that has aquired many carriers, there isn't anything for these T-Mobile folks to be worried about.

Cingular/AT&T has grandfathered it's aquired carriers rate plans and features. From Dobson, Brazos Cellular, AT&T Wireless, Alltel, and others, these folks started off on day one with their existing old carrier rate plan.

So why is everyone worried?

cause it's gonna be the end of the wireless world as we know it!!!! AHHHH!!!!!1111one!!!!!!1

everyone is speculating that as competition decreases, prices will inevitably increase as a result. i agree with that notion for the most part, but i certainly don't think at&t is going to jack up their prices overnight. t-mobile is a "low-cost" alternative ("low-cost" is a relative term in the US wireless industry) for folks who don't want at&t, so i think that's what worries people the most. i think if anything, sprint will come out with more customers if this goes through. all the people looking for a "bargain" carrier are going to switch. sprint should take advantage of this if they're smart, once they're done fighting it of course.

I think Sprint is putting up a heroic effort in order to say "Well wireless world...we tried and it was just too much, so instead...we're offering blahblahblah to anyone who switches! Lets give it to them this way! Huzzah!"

i think when it's all over and all the dust settles, sprint will market themselves as the carrier that fights for consumer rights and "cares" about its customers

Ray Zalinsky: I make car parts for the American working man, because that's what I am and that's what I care about. Truth is, I maker car parts for the American working man because I'm a hell of a sales man and he doesn't know any better.

Dan Hesse is gonna adopt this philosophy now 🙂

THIS IS THE POINT TO ALL THIS !!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is speculating!

I heard all this same SH*& with the VZW - Alltell buyout and through out our history.

Everyone needs to stop whining and let the system do its job. FCC, DOJ and Congress will either ok it or ban it. Either way T mo is dead!
