I am sick of all of the carriers out there calling it 4G! YOU DO NOT HAVE 4G!!! NOBODY HAS IT! 4G REQUIRES a peak download speed of 100Mbps...not a SINGLE carrier out there can TOUCH that. Why are they still calling it 4G after ITU defined it at 100Mbps. 👿

I've been coming to PS for a long time, I remembered the headline, so I just Googled it.

Though current LTE is indeed considered "4G" I am LOOKING FORWARD to LTE-Advanced! ! ! Which probably won't even begin to be deployed until 2015 at the earliest (just a guess).

Whoa! So something huge happened while I was out of the country during December. Where the heck was I!? LOL. So is "4G" not defined by a set speed anymore? Or is it more of an "evolution of technology"? Yeah...I totally feel rather foolish now! Thanks Jayshmay for the link on that!

True but at least I've seen speed tests with 20Mbps down on Big Red. Try that on WiMAX over it's garbage 2.5ghz signal or T-Mo's "4G". Even T-Mo's so-called "4G" gets faster speeds than WiMAX lmao

Don't worry about us poor WiMAX users though, my Epic is currently hit spotting for me while I'm torrenting down all of season 3 of True Blood, and getting a solid 9 mbps down. Since it's only 6 and a half gig it should be done quick style.

Somehow I guess I'll have to survive with that awful, terrible, unacceptable speed.
