It is official rs and bb no longer have any reason to sell wireless since corporate stores and 3rd party stores now have a level playing field.

Other then the fact that there is still money to be made? They still make a profit on the sales of the phone, not to mention they will make some upfront money not having to do the rebates themselves. The truth of the matter is very few people actually know that BB and RS do the MIR themselves. And those people are really just the techies and in the know people. Who realistically make up a small portion of the customer base. The average cust doesnt realize this as MIR's are such standard practice they just accept this as the norm.

The point is, there is absolutely no reason to buy a Sprint phone/plan at a rs or bb since they have nothing to offer a consumer. No knowledge,no service, no phone book swap, no demo phones to try, no experienced reps and now, no price advantage.

I can't even begin to pick apart the strew of logical fallacies in your post.

Protip: instead of making false blanket statements when you don't know the truth, don't say anything.

I think you are the one that needs to back down. XYZ is correct on all accounts. I am only guessing you work for an RS or BB and to you I say s my d!

Yep I said it.

We constantly hear RS customers come over and say they didn't know what they were doing and RS admitting to it also.

Just my OPINION everyone has one.

Funny. We always get customers from corporate stores telling us they're told that Best Buy only sells refurbished phones. Funny the lies people have to make up to try to compete with us.

Also, don't lump in RS with Best Buy. We go through much more training and rep visits than they do.

rs and bb are both terrible. rep visits dont mean you know anything. im sure the corp store was confused with rs selling refurbs.

if no one knows that rs and bb have instant rebates, then why did the 2 test markets sales shoot up? if no one knew that bb and rs had instants, why is sprint doing this nation wide?

i wonder how much complaining sprint is getting from rs?

I work at Radio Shack.

Let's go through your list of inadequacies that apparently plague most Radio Shacks:

"No knowledge"- I disagree. Associates have trainings every two weeks on upcoming products that we are going to be selling. Plus, I do my own personal research on the latest in cell phone technology and technology in general.

"No service"- Really? Wow, it is amazing how Radio Shack can stay open without offering any service. I must have missed something. I offer the best customer service to every customer that I meet, even if they become belligerent. As far as cell phones are concerned, I make sure that I answer any questions that the customer may have for me about their cell phones.

"No phone book swap"- Partly true. Not e...

WISH THEY WORKED FOR CORP STORES LIKE AT&T, T-Mobile and SPRINT!

FYI....most of RS profits come from Cell Phone sales, what yall going to do when its just Sprint to sale..(RUMOR HAS IT THAT AT&T IS LOOKING TO END ITS CONTRACT WITH RS)

att and sprint should end whatever contract they have with RS and make them sell like the rest of the 3rd party stores.

20 years ago, to get instant exposure, sprint needed RS. now that they destroy the name of every carrier they sell, these carriers need to invest in the channels that are actually selling phones.

people are misreading this article they are offering the instant savings at the retail sprint stores and the online site which means less out of pocket expense when buying a phone. instead of waiting 6-8 weeks to get your rebate back it is already deducted at the register resulting in less out of pocket money. thats why i have been with sprint forever they always have the best offers and rate plans 🙂

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

This is the biggest bunch of BS ever man, great job. I can't speak for Best Buy as a company but at my particular store all of our wireless sales consultants have previous background in phones (knowledge). We do offer demo phones to try (our store has an Evo, an Epic, a Thunderbolt, an iPhone 4, an Atrix, a Nexus S, a Sony Xperia X10, a Fascinate and a Droid X.) We are also one of the smaller stores. So much for that argument. As far as contact transfer, that's laughable. The mobile genie right by my side begs to differ. But hey, don't ask me, ask the several customers that tell me every day how much they hate shopping at carrier stores.

In short, nice try, but just about everything you said is completely fa...

so since this is about sprint, you have an epic and an evo. 2 phones that are out of stock more than they are in stock. what do you show people when they want to see a demo optimus or demo aircard? people hate shopping at 'carrier' stores because the sales reps know no matter what they are only there to try out the demo phones and get real answers. after they get the answer, they go to b or rs to buy it because of the instant rebates.

no body strives to work at best buy mobile if they have worked for a legit 3rd party or corp store.

on a side note, how many wishes do you get with your mobile genie?
