This is also great news for Android users as it creates an even larger user base which translates to even more drive for developers to create more and better apps.

IMHO this was crucial to the success of the Playbook. Sadly the BB app store is much too small for a tablet. Phones now days are highly geared towards apps and tablets are even more so. Aside from apps there isn't a lot to do on a tablet. I certainly hope the Playbook can do well. RIM makes quality products, my only complaint is that they have so few apps compared platforms like iOS and Android.

I wonder how their implementation of this ability differs from AlienDalvik? I hope RIM was classy enough to not just rip off their work!
