I still don't understand...

...why people are so worried about/predicting the doom of Sprint.
It's just ridiculous. It seems that just because the competitor has more customers that this makes them a better product or a better deal. In this case, the ATT deal doesn't represent either.
So good they get some more network. Big whoop! This amounts to polishing a turd in my book... well maybe upgrading to something with some corn in it 🤣
I don't think this will upgrade the US's worst cell wireless carrier's customer service issues.
I'm pretty certain that ATT will share the costs of this 39 billion dollar deal along to its customers. Expect them to flaunt the fact that they are "#1" by hiking up the rates.
This along with future billing errors, network migration...

Who knows what AT&T will and won't do with costs after the merger? I doubtful much. I also don't want or expect the death of Sprint and Clear. I don't use them because I can't abide cdma. BUT, if I was to or had to use a cdma carrier, it would be Sprint.

I spoke with one of the stuffed suits at T-Mobile and he states that initially some subs will run to Verizon or Sprint that are not presently on contracts.
Lay-offs of course are in the works.
Plans will be grandfathered until some nimrod makes even a slight change to their plan. Then comes the whining why their plan changed.
SIM cards will change as when Cingular bought out the old AT&T Wireless in 2004 to accomodate the larger network.
Phones not necessarily. Depends on the type of phone.
It is a shame that international travelers to this country will be only able to access the bigger AT&T mobility network thus no choices. Most of the planet uses GSM.
Oh well welcome to corporate politics.

I definately see a big shuffling here. There is a lot of hate toward AT&T. People will leave and I see the 3 big companies start evening out. Sprint will gain alot of customers as the cheapest carrier. I also see Sprint changing some plans and policies since consumer options will be more limited. They will become more aggressively competitive. While detrimental to the industry, a smart move for Verizon would be to acquire Sprint before that happens and Sprint becomes too big to acquire, thus making a CDMA vs GSM duoploy. I'm not for this happening, but stategic manuvering by large companies is rarely about what is best for the customer or the industry. Then, in protest, everyone reverts back to snail mail and carrier pigeons!

At this point in time, MVNO's and other hardly heard of carriers are looking prettier by the minute.
You get what you pay for with no BS. Only the customer service is horrid.
Small sacrifice.
Let the big boys duke it out.
