He tried to send an email, but the 2.5ghz wimax wouldn't penetrate the screen door on his porch, so it never went through.

He took something out of your mouth. It wasn't words.
Do you circle jerkers ever use real life information or just what your sales/call center training manual tells you? I bet your trainer, Kip, is the foremost authority on WiMax considering his 8 months working for your carrier.
Damn, you guys gossip more than a Red hat Society meeting at a golden corral.

Looks like Clear and Sprint are the most vocal because their deals did not materialize. I still think that this deal will not be as bad as they claim because their will be a lot of divestures that regional players will have the opportunity to vie for which will create more competition and opportunities for the smaller carriers. I also don't think this will automatically lead to higher prices either. If you look at this industry which has been one of constant consolidation, you will see that prices have actually fallen dramatically. I remember what my bill looked like 5 years ago and I am saving about 30 to 40% now. The most negative issue I see with this potential acquisition is the job losses from both sides which always sucks.

The funny thing about them vocalizing their issues with this is...Sprint PASSED up the opportunity to purchase T-Mobile. Did they not expect one of the larger companies to snap it up?

Probably not. Who would have seriously considered that one of the two giant carriers with 95 million subscribers would try to pull this off? The day I saw the article I had to blink to check the calendar in case it were an April Fool's joke. It is unfathomable.

For the last couple years, I have always been certain that if anything happened to either Sprint or T-Mobile, the two were sure to be merged. The size of ATT left little doubt that it was out of the question for a massive carrier to buy out a large competitor when little competition is left.

The MCI/Sprint deal was thrown away for almost mirror image reasons.

The Bells were children separated at birth for this reason as well.
It needs to remain as such.

Sprint did not pass on buying them out. Sprint passed on the offer of a 50/50 merger.
I'm pretty sure Sprint/Clear is vocal because they are the last of the competition...

Let's put it this way...

How loud would you, AndroidRules, and Versed be screaming if some giant Bob Sapp lookin' dude wanted to make you his &%^*^?
I'm guessing your wit and clever comments would go out the window when it was your #$% getting %^&*&'d.
I bet you'd be yelling "there's laws against this"!

🤣 Good point but Sprint should have said to hell with merging and should have just outright bought them like ATT is proposing.

Sir, 1st it was a joke. 2. You have some valid points, but please try to keep it somewhat respectable. I don't get upset about something here and there thats off color, or people attacking people for a typo here and there, it happens.

Passed on the deal??? Yea I would say that's pure conjecture, sounds like the same crap that was said like the old CEO passed on the iPhone.

It's not conjecture... it's fact. Sprint did not want to merge. They wanted to buy it out. But a doubled offer from att changed that.

If true, that's not the same as passing on a deal. It's more like ST wanted to unload, shopped buyers, went with the one that had the deeper pockets. I see no evidence of Sprint ever having a realistic chance at this.

Yeah like someone mentioned before, it reminded me of the ATT buyout when Vodaphone jumped in to hike the final price up...

It was pretty obvious that DT was looking to get rid of Tmob. I think the only thing Sprint balked at is that for the price Sprint was willing to pay, DT wanted too big of a stake in the new company in return. DT said openly that it wanted Sprint as a partner. I just don't think Sprint wants anymore partners. They wanted to buy Tmob but couldn't afford the asking price.
I'm pretty sure Sprint was offering fair market value for Tmob. The rest of that money is for all the fat cat execs who are going to retire for the rest of their lives while any redundant employees from Tmob will probably get the ax. Yay America!

Though it looks like an attack, and may be a bit over-board, I read this in Samuel L. Jacksons' voice and lolled hard.

I agree somewhat. I don't think this will lead to a direct price increase, with a few caveats.

1) Any former T-Mobile customer could potentially see a price increase relative to them. More likely than not, they won't be forced to newer, more expensive rate plans right away. But, I'm sure there will be stipulations as far as "upgrading" goes where a new handset = new calling plan.

2) Also, ev...
