Are Nextel usere able to roam in Southern Linc areas?

I travel to Baxley Ga. and have no service. Southern Linc works great there. I had to cancel and go to Verizon. Just wondering if Nextel will work there or not.

No, Sprint's iDEN devices will not work in Baxley, Ga and according to the Sprint Coverage Tool, CDMA devices will roam there on the wireless carrier who offers coverage in Baxley. Besides, with the Network One Initiative, the days of iDEN are numbered as the Sprint 850 MHz iDEN network is going to be converted to a 850 MHZ CDMA one.

Unless maybe SouthernLINC is sticking its toe in the water and is considering taking over the Nextel iDEN network.
Or maybe they know that the Network Vision initiative at Sprint-Nextel COULD include iDEN if Sprint wanted it to, and SouthernLINC will be able to continue roaming on Nextel iDEN territory if they show there is enough business potential.
Or maybe they want to get themselves bought out by Sprint and this gets their foot in the door and makes them buddy-buddy with Sprint. If T-mobile does get acquired by ATT, and given that Verizon has publicly stated they have no int...

I used to have Nextel too, but I had to switch to Verizon because they offer better coverage. I got the Casio Ravine which is similar to a Nextel phone in that it is rugged, and has PTT. I love the phone and love Verizon's coverage.
