Sprint aside, the only ppl this is good for are at&t execs. As someone who lives in the US (im assuming, you might not) you should be pro choice and competition..neither of which this merger is good for.

You are absolutely correct. All these people screaming about how wonderful it is will find out soon enough that it will only be wonderful for the rich and powerful, not the consumer. Hopefully Sprint has some success in their fight.

The deal is good for any at&t or T-Mobile who is sick to death of shallow coverage and frequent dropped calls, it is also good for anyone who is with another network but may occasionally roam on at&t's network, in short that is A LOT of people.

In telecommunications, bigger really is better.

Wow you know so little. There is a minority of ppl who will see short term gaines from this, granted. But long term, ppl are going to be paying more. You know why avg costs have been going down? Bc 2 of the 4 major carriers have been bucking the trend set by verizon & at&t & lowering their prices. You really think that will continue with verizon & at&t controlling 80% of the spectrum and at&t being the only real GSM option. You're dumb if you think that.

Its selfish and short sighted to think this is good, just cuz you get to keep an iphone where at&t's service used to suck. If your service sucked before you had options, tmobile, the carrier they picked up for one. Long term, for american consumers, THIS WILL SUCK.

I'm still trying to figure out how adding 35 million customers will increase network performance. If you think ATT will get to keep all of Tmob's network, you are sadly mistaken.
No competition means no innovation and price hikes. It means the "big two" have no reason to do jack **** for it's customers. Where are the customers going to go? Prepaid?
Obviously you are way too young to remember the reasons the US gov decided to tear the giant apart in the first place. It's because in telecommunications bigger is NOT better. This has already been proven so stop trying to argue the point. It's like arguing that the sky is not blue even though you are looking right at it.

I completely agree, the problem with prepaid is that it will be controlled by AT&T and VZW as well so there will be nowhere to hide lol.

Prepaid controlled by ATT/Vzn? Uh, how is that? Metro & Cricket aren't controlled at all by ATT/Vzn.

hasn't this already been proved wrong multiple times in the last 100 years? there will be short term games for some people because of this deal, sure. but in the long term less competition = higher pricing for everyone. how many people have to tell you you're wrong??

Are you in middle school or something? There's a bit more to macroeconomics than yelling "NUN OF UR BIZNES!" like a twelve year old little girl.

but in 1974 "ma bell" as at&t was known was broken up by the gov in an antitrust lawsuit. at&t was forced to divest itself into smaller "baby bells." well guess what dude? all those "baby bells" are owned by at&t again, except for a few that are owned by their good pals at verizon.

at&t is growing back to it's former girth, except now there's far less regulation. we're well on our way to an oligopoly (basically already there) with little regulation.

translation: say hello to all the crappy new bloatware on your cool new phone! sweet!
