I think AT&T entered this agreement on purpose.

That way they would have some leverage to bargain with the DoJ and FCC, arguing that AT&T will suffer a financial loss if the deal is blocked from proceeding. At&t knows what it is doing.

Will they also wait 6-8 weeks for their rebate VISA card to come through?

I get mine in just under a month when I bought my LG Ally recently.

And btw, it's been almost 2 full months, and I am still very happy with my LG Ally. It's a much, much better device than the Motorola Droid was for me.

Jay,
Friend of mine has that phone, actually two, and both seem to agree with you. One actually paid $3.00 walking out the store! Can't go wrong with that.

What if the FCC and DoJ just see this as a way to "redistribute" the wealth of a company to another one by simply saying "No"?

T-Mobile is restricted by their spectrum, and most likely funding since DT isn't exactly pouring money into.

I do wish CellStudent or WifiWavelength would chime in on how this really does solve spectrum issues between the two companies. It doesn't seem like it will.

The main agenda is not spectral differences. It is the amount of spectrum. ATT will be able to cover approximately 46 million more people with the spectrum they acquire. If I'm correct, they will offer backwards compatible LTE in these spectrum markets.

But I too await their responses. They have been rather quiet. Especially AJ. He is not one for seeing competition being swept away. His take will be interesting on this. My opinion, is he won't be a happy camper.

Actually I think it was put there by AT&T to reassure skittish German investors that even if the deal doesn't get approved they will still profit.....it's there to 'sweeten the pot' so to speak for T-Mobile...
