Talk about putting your money where their mouth is. This is awesome news. Well, except there is a T-Mobile and att store on ever corner here in DFW. This will make for interesting times for store closings!

When Cingular and AT&T Wireless came together they had the same problem. Stores were closed after a few months, and no front line employees immediately lost their job, unless there was a history. People did leave of their own choosing either early on or after a period, but, many were probably thinking about it anyway.

Of course, and they make money on those divested properties. And I'm sure thats already been put in the pot. Companies like Sprint and MetroPCS will buy 1900.

I am sure that companies this big have already taken the anti-business bent of this administration into accoutn and already have stuff prepared to appease the regulators...they wouldn't have announced something this big unless they knew what they were doing.

Verizon voluntarily divested itself of some properties to pass approval. Maybe AT&T will do the same.

The problem is 'divest to whom'? I don't know that there is anyone to divest to....

Not true, Jon. This is telecommunications, not oil companies. Obama is all about making sure rural areas have the latest communication tools.
