I don't understand...

I just don't get why they didn't have this taken care of before hand knowing what they knew about the EVO and it's other siblings.
Essentially this is the EVO for Verizon with very slight tweaks here and there. The same battery life that became famous with the EVO is now on it's twin brother, the Thunderbolt.
All the specs for this thing have been out for a minute, so the only thing that actually surprised me about the device is the lack of a 4G toggle. With Verizon's own admitted plans to TIER data plans soon, that's not a comfortable thought. Forced overage anyone? Not to mention that means the phone is always going to be looking for a 4G network. Even more battery gone.
And can someone tell me why I have to pay $249 for it?

Why are you complaining about paying $249. Uggggghhhh People kill me sometimes.

Its arguably the best Android phone on the best network in the country. It's a very fair price and I believe you get a 32gb sd card which pits this phone directly against the 32gb iphone (which is $299)

$249 is more than fair for this phone with its feature set.

It offers nothing more than the EVO... except the larger SD card(and lacks an HDMI port).

It's just another example of Verizon thinking they should charge more for the same... or even less in some cases. So maybe we should put a 32GB sd card in a Blackberry Curve and sell it for $249 as well... it's on the "best network" after all. 🙄

And this "best network" crap is a joke. There's no one outside of a brand new Verizon call center trainee that actually believes that.
The only claim you have over other networks now is speed of 4G(and then not by much). And even then you get an even crappier battery life than the EVO has. And the lack of a 4G toggle makes this phone a giant paperweight after MINUTES of use.

Seeing what the com...

Should it be better? Yes.

You paid $249, did you get it from the "exclusive retail partner?". I hope you added on the lifetime GeekSquad optimization and buy back plans.

Most people are paying $199 or less, which is still too much - but it's the lifetime cost of the device and service you should be comparing.

iPhone made $199 and up an acceptable price for handsets.

I don't have it. I played with one before the release. Just giving my 2 cents on what I would be thinking if I were to think about purchasing it.

"best network in the country" is far more an advertisement than reality! I get dropped calls on Verizon, and my data drops from 3G to 1x, quite a bit!

Verizon is way, way overhyped!
