AT&T Notifies Unauthorized Tetherers to Knock It Off
All you can fit into one bag.
"well," she say's, "all you have to do is purchase this bag, and you can have whatever you want from the store if you can fit it into the bag!"
"That sounds Keen" I say as I pay my money and start walking around filling the bag she gave me.
As I am walking, I notice other people filling their bags, and filling up the extra bags they brought along, so I ask, "are you allowed to do that?"
"We sneak the bags in disguised as the other bags, they say we can have all we want off of these shelves, so we are taking what we are paying for!!!"
"So you know your not supposed to do it?" I ask.
"Of course we know, but they will never c...

That doesn't work. With a cell phone you aren't paying for "what can fit in the phone." Data is formless and you can use as much as you want if you have an unlimited plan. The bags for this analogy should be bottomless to be similar to web usage, but then that makes the analogy stupid so I see why you did what you did.
Upon seeing an advertisement, I walk into a store to ask the clerk what this new sale is all about.
"well," she say's, "all you have to do is purchase this phone, and you can use as much data as you want!"
"That sounds Keen" I say as I pay my money and start walking around surfing the net on my new phone.
As I am walking, I notice other people surfing the web, and using that same unlimited data on another device, so I ask, "are you allowed to do that?"
"We connect the phone to our computers to access what we bought, they say we have unlimited data, so we are using what we are paying for!!!"
"Don't you know you're not supposed to do it?" I ask.
"Of course we know, but they wil...

Okay, you're right, I messed up. They're breaking rules because their provider is stupid, my bad.
lol, exactly. the service is on their terms, not yours, no matter how ridiculous their policies are.

At the point when you purchased the phone, you signed the agreement. Thus you are responsible for living up to the t+c. That's the catch!
"With a cell phone you aren't paying for "what can fit in the phone"
Really? Because the contract you sign says you are, I mean, unless I'm the one who can't read...A pricing plan designated for one type of device may not be used with another device. Compatible data-enabled wireless device required. An Activation Fee may apply for each data line.
Tell me if I'm wrong. I'm sure you will. 😁
I can agree on this to a certain extent. However, ignorance is a very powerful deficiency as well. Those that think they can just keep using more and more multiple devices coupled to one unlimited plan, need to be put into check. I know a neighborhood as we speak that is in court right now for stealing from the garbage pick up company. A small portion of the neighborhood banded together and pooled their trash to one residence. This effectively allowed the neighbors to have trash pick up for the price of one home. But why should this matter? The one home is paying for the trash. Right?
I am sure you can clearly see where taking advantage of tethering rights coul...
