Well to be fair, it's really only 5GB before the throttle point. But still, a much better deal.

I find it to be utterly rediculous to have to pay for what my device can do. This isl ike having an ISP and having to pay extra to use the Wifi feature of the router you own.

They used to do similar stuff. For example, about 10 years ago, Cablevision required a separate installation for each computer, despite the fact that home routers were already cheap and easily available. Anyone who put a router to allow multiple PCs to access the internet were technically stealing service.

Verizon Wireless used to make you pay a monthly fee to enable bluetooth on your device. But all of these measures were defeated by class action lawsuits.

T-Mobile did it before, but the workaround is easy by changing the browser agent.

They started doing that in november. They detect the useragent of the browser. If it shows a desktop browser like firefox or IE, it blocks it. If it shows a mobile browser, your good. Hit and miss on if they catch you. As usual, there are ways around it.

Spoofing a user agent on a phone is common place though. See Dolphin browser for Android.

I hope they don't too (and doubt they will). After seeing some of the rotten things other cell companies do to their customers, T-Mobile is not bad at all. Glad I stayed with them through the years! Have had to sacrifice a little with nationwide data speeds when not in major metro areas but always treated fairly.

Ya i know what u mean i am in north idaho and i get around on average 5 to 7 mbps on average on my g2 and i dont think any other area carrier can offer those speeds up here yet.
