Won't this encourage people to make unnecessary calls to a location which is sure to be having capacity problems?

Next time your loved ones are involved in a natural disaster, please volunteer to not be able to contact them.

While your response is harsh but true...Globhead may have a point. I think he means, if the nuclear power plants aren't holding, there's a good chance the power grids may not be able to handle any additional influx caused by incoming calls and texts. I absolutely agree though, if there is a natural disaster, there has to be means of communication and I commend the wireless carriers for doing their part.

I honestly didnt mean for my response to make me sound like such an ass....It was a hurried response at best.


I was also under the impression that emergency services would still be able to communicate as well.
