...despite so many international customers that I speak with on a daily basis, there has not been one mention of the tragedy in Japan or any need to communicate with the anybody there. 😕

The damage is immeasurable. I think the catastrophe has not yet begin to take on the dramatic effects or mindset of what has happened.

I commend ATT to open up their lines for people to communicate with anyone they know that has been victimized by this devastation. I hope the other carriers follow suit.

They most likely will. It just concerns me on how slow they come to decisions. The US is the melting pot of the world. There is a great percentage of the US that is of Asian descent. Japan is a great resource of this percentage. Open pipelines should be practically instantaneous.

Corporations never sleep. The CEOs shouldn't either. I realize time is needed to complete office material. But memos should've been already written and acknowledged over the weekend. Computers and Emails are great tools.

"Open pipelines should

If you really need to make a call, you don't have to wait until it is "free".

My point is that I don't feel a carrier should be wanting to make profits off of a subscriber's misfortunes during disasters. I would make the phone call anyway. But it is nice knowing, my carrier would have a little compassion during a catastrophe such as this.

We haven't heard from other carriers BTW. Including my own. This bothers me. I presume they will come through however.
