Sprint is the bottom-barrel for customer service.

* I have known sprint customers whose service got suspended in mid-billing-cycle just because their total current charges exceeded the "approved" level.

* Sprint at one time stored my debit card information WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME. It was enough to get the FCC breathing down their neck, but they didn't fix it.

* When calling Sprint, the reps are rude and will transfer you without warning.

* Sprint has charged people a fee for calling customer service. I don't know if they still do.

* Sprint has disconnected people who they feel call customer service too much.

I've been with T-Mobile for 13 years now. They have the best data plans, and great service. ...But if it goes Sprint, I...

"Sprint doesnt disco people who call CS too much, troll"

Actually, they cut lose about 500 customers who thought calling CS every day was their right. Showed them and those mofos SHOULD have been fired.

Sure dude. I'll get you proof. But you lost cool points with me for even making an issue of this. Those customers were leeches who were costing Sprint money. Every carrier should drop people like that like a bad habit.

2007 was a horrible time to be a Sprint/Nextel subscriber. If a subscriber called and complained too many times, Sprint considered the caller a nuisance and dropped them. This helped add to their tarnished reputation from the Nextel merge.

Google "Sprint drops complainers". You will be met with a barrage of articles. Not pretty.

Thanks to Dan Hesse and new management, Sprint has made a tremendous turnaround.

If I'm not mistaken Hesse was in charge during that. I agree with the decision to do it.

Hesse came aboard at the very end of 2007. December, if I'm not mistaken. Gary Forsee was still in charge for the most part during this turbulent time. Hesse had a mess to clean up. If Forsee had retained the CEO position, I would have questioned my willingness to stay with Sprint as a subscriber. His disposition tested my own patience. I most likely would have been one of the dropped customers.

If people are calling CS so much it probably means their problems aren't being resolved.

Then Sprint could not meet their expectations and acted in their best interest by terminating their contracts with no ETFs and showing them the door. It is like having a nagging girlfriend who is never satisfied. The best thing that you can do for the both of you is put her *Bleep* the *Bleep* out! That's what Sprint did and it was LONG overdue.

From a consumer point of view, these people must have been calling CS so, so much because their problems weren't being resolved.

That may be Jay. My point is that their problems were never going to be solved. Sprint allowed those consumers to exit without an ETF. Sprint obviously could not meet their wireless needs. The media hyped those firings, but even as a Verizon employee at the time I defended Sprint. There are some *Bleepers* who are never satisfied. They call and *Bleep* and moan and generally eat up resources. ($ to 12$ per call into CS and some on these *Bleeps* were calling twenty-five plus times a month ON AVERAGE??? Good *Bleeping* riddance I say!

Or maybe they're psychopaths who have unrealistic expectations due to some mental disorder and think they're entitled to absolute perfection in their world?

I'm firmly convinced that if it comes to a point that termination is the only reasonable course of action, the fault is almost certainly more with the consumer than the organization, especially in an industry as fickle as cellular.

Crazy people calling and complaining about coverage at their home every week when they live 25 miles form the nearest cell site and think you're supposed to built them their own $3,000,000 cell tower because they pay their $70/month phone bill cannot be satisfied. Period.

Irreconcilable differences do exist. Terminating the relationship is th...

You worked in tech support, too, eh? 🤨

Me: "I show that you live in a white area. Unfortunately there is no Verizon coverage or roaming partner in your home area?"

Customer: "I know, but it works at my job."

Me: "So how can I help you?"

Customer: "I want you to make it work at my house?"

The Network Extender is actually a possible solution, but what are the chances that I can get this dweeb to fork out the $249.99 plus tax? Not likely. This type of *Bleep* happens every day. Sprint has solid coverage maps and they don't exaggerate. It is what it is. What do you wanna bet the majority of those calls were people complaining about coverage where Sprint did not advertise that they had it OR people roaming on Verizon...

T-Mo has 21mb/s HSPA+, and is currently deploying 42mb/s HSPA+, already deployed in Las Vegas. T-Mo's HSPA+ network can easily rival Sprints WiMax network. If not now, then definetly by the end of the year when 42mb/s HSPA+ is deployed in more places, and when they finally have a smartphone or 2 that can take advantage of the speeds.

Tmo is working on upgrading their HSPA network to 42mb/s, already live here in Las Vegas, by the time they deploy LTE they'll probably be up to 100mb/s.

Damn the next 2yrs are going to be so, so exciting! ! !

"I have known sprint customers whose service got suspended in mid-billing-cycle just because their total current charges exceeded the "approved" level"

Their bill was a $125 or more in arrears. That's how one gets dead beats to get off their arse and pay their *Bleeping* bill.

"* Sprint has disconnected people who they feel call customer service too much."

Mofos paying $40 per month have no business calling CS thirty times in a one month period. They NEEDED to fire their arses.

tangocharlie: Actually, Sprint's customer service in the stores and on the phone is quite good. The horror stories you shared (whether personal or heresay) are outdated. Yes, there was a time the company suffered greatly from their inept CS Reps. But, they listened to our complaints, and made changes. Yeah, I'm sure there may still be some reps out there that are less inclined to help the customer. But, I've had nothing but top-notch service for the last 3 years.

I know that T-Mo has always received good reviews for their CS. But, I would suggest giving Sprint/T-Mo a chance if this deal goes thru. Frankly, I think this could be a pretty great "coagulation"! Both companies stand to build on each other's strengths, while also strengthening ...
