This stupid Android phone will not let ME decide if I want an application to have access to various features. I have to let it have everything it wants, or not run it at all.

Damn phones letting you know what each app wants to do with your phone!

It should work like other phones and give apps full-permission without your knowledge.

Apparently you have limited experience with "other phones". Phones which use J2ME applications can do things like turn off file access for a specific application. This can be disabled by carrier-hacked firmware.

It doesn't help much for a phone to only tell you, but not allow you to control it, when nearly every application on the market is asking for critical permissions like simultaneous file, contact, and Internet access.
