Why are you all talking about phones?

I'll wager we see a MacBook with an embedded modem in it this year and that it will be a long time before Apple ever considers LTE for a handset.

720p resolution screens don't even exist at the handset level. The only real reason to put LTE in a handset is for the carrier to save money (because it's cheaper than 3G) and to use it as a tethered modem.

Good point about the macbook.
2 other reasons to put LTE in a handset: video chat (that doesn't suck)over cellular signal instead of WiFi, and to stay on the cutting edge of competition. Some customers want to buy overpowered stuff just to have it.
