Yes. Clinton moved so far to the right that the Republicans accused him of stealing their issues. It worked, too. Somehow I don't think Obama is going to finagle a second term out of this, but I AM hoping these idiots in the House shut down the government. Home made crises are always so much fun.

Clinton also used the Republicans' confrontations over unpopular ideas against them, and positioned himself as the president defending the people's interests against the Republicans, who only cared about the wealthy, and shut down the federal government like whiny children throwing a hissy fit because they weren't getting what they wanted.

Sounds familiar, doesnt't it?

Obama's biggest advantage, though, is that Republicans have no one on the bench that can unite their party AND bring in the independents they need to actually win a presidential election. Any candidate that wins their primary will have to run to the crazy right to appeal to the kinds of idiots that vote in the Republican primary will scare the bejeesus out of people in ...
