Battery Life Just isn't there

I got the T608 on Friday last week and have been using it since. Mostly just trying to figure out how to use it.

I went to work Monday and left it in my pocket. I used it a little bit and the battery died around 2:00pm. It only lasted 6.5 hours
Tuesday I didn't use it at all and it still died before I got out of work. I thought it had a standby time of several days?? How can I use it if it dies before I get out of an 8 hour work day??

Any thoughts??

i heard that some of the batteries are bad because these phones have been sitting in the warehouse for several months because of the delay. i think that the batteries are cheap so if i were you i would go buy another one and see how that one works. while your at it, you might want to get an extended battery sinice your already spending the money.

Yes, the batteries that come with the T608 are very old, and if you replace it with a brand new BST-25 you will see battery life triple at least...

Initially, my T608 lasted about 12 hours. Yikes! The horror! However, with a few power cycles the battery was easily lasting a day.

I purchased a new battery (BST-25) from an AT&T store (T608 uses same battery as T616) and it has been running over 24 hours with bluetooth always on, occassional web surfing, and about 20-30 minutes of phone usage with over 3/4 remaining on the batter meter. Much better!

Interesting, the new battery I bought is only 3 months younger than the one that shipped with the T608 (2003 week 27 vs. week 15). Perhaps Sprint kept our T608s in a freezer? 😉

Mine lasted three days on the first full charge.

As with any phone, make sure you do full charge cycles the first 2-3 times. Charge it all the way, then let it drain all the way before charging again, then repeat. After doing that three times, you can charge it whenever. If you don't do those initial full cycles, you'll never get full battery life.

It amy have been searching for service in his pocket too, and that woulda drained battery life.

I plan on buying about 3 batteries for this phone.. They are like REAL cheap on ebay.. like $5 or less!!
