Qualcomm's Newest Snapdragon Runs 4 Cores at 2.5 GHz
Big Battery
Unlike many competitors, the chip and/or software has a lot of options for keeping power usage down. Each core can be throttled down or even turned off completely. Therefore each core only runs - and only runs at the speed necessary - as needed.
So if you're doing some serious gaming that uses all four cores, yes, it will suck the life out of your battery in no time. But in normal usage, it should use no more power than a single- or dual-core chip.
