WOW! That's amazing!! 😳 😳 😲 😲 🤤 🤤 I still think that TMO pushing their network to 42mbps is awesome but 168Mbps using commercial equipment is phenomenal! This just goes to show you that HSPA+ is a technology forced to be reckoned with. The one great thing that I really like about HSPA+ is the back-wards compatibility with 3G devices. No need to switch over to another frequency or anything, it will just work. But there is one question that I keep asking myself.... Do we really need 168Mbps? Or 678Mbps that TMO is talking about going to by 2015?

Well, most carriers seem to be pushing the speed claim now, so whether we need it or not, it may be deployed.

At some point T-mobile will want to have similar speeds as LTE to compete, and this may allow them to do so.

If the development of HSPA+ continues to proceed at it's current rate. I wouldn't be a matter of competing with LTE. It would more likely set the bar for LTE to reach. I'm excited for TMO and what they have down the pipeline to flip the industry upside down into their favor.
