They should also ban deaf people from walking on the streets

Because if you're going to ban a cell phone or MP3 player because it causes the user to not hear what's around them, you need to protect the deaf, who have a more legitimate need for protection. Keep deaf people off the streets, as well as those who can't hear because of their MP3 player or cell phone.

And while we're at it, ban people who stop in front of other people walking. What dolts.

We should all have government issued safety bubbles. It should be a crime to step outside your house if you are not inside your bubble. Also, the governments should manufacture and deliver all our food and only allow us what is most healthy for our bodies. Additionally all extreme sports should be banned because the risks are too great, football included. Tall buildings and skyscrapers should be torn down. No buildings taller than one story should ever be built, in order to minimize the risk of death if someone falls off of them. I'm pretty sure deaf people who are crossing a street are looking around to make sure it's safe, NOT looking down at what's in their hands!

I am tempted to ask you to grow up, but I'm trying to be nice. ;)

It was tongue-in-cheek sarcasm. I thought that was evident, but apparently not. I apologize.

My sister is deaf, and infinitely more aware of what's going on around her than any non-deaf person. In fact, she was the one who made the sarcastic remark - I just reiterated and expanded on it.
