Maybe, but I am sure that would violate Verizon's terms of use, and they will almost certainly know about it. I would need to read the T&C's, but I would be surprised if the penalty for that is anything other than immediate cancellation of your account by VZW.

Yeah, cause god forbid VZW protects it's network from unauthorized usage.

Some people (myself included) believe that taking things without paying them, otherwise known as 'stealing' is morally wrong. Sorry if that offends you.

Oops, I apologize if I misunderstood your point. I thought you were trying to justify this, reading it again it appears I misunderstood your point.

At any rate, unauthorized tethering IS stealing. it's amazing the lengths people will go to justify theft of things provided they aren't tangible. Very few people, I think, would defend auto theft, but steal service from a phone company and that is somehow okay because 'phone service' is not a physical object.

I think the difficulty of cell phone service is that because it isn't tangible, consumers don't see the BILLIONS of dollars worth of complex and fragile infrastructure that has to exist in order to support that wireless connection.

Movie pirating or even song pirating. While most people that justify this as "they are an evil corporation", or "they make plenty of money", there is so much more to what goes into it. You aren't hurting the actors, musicians, or cell phone company. The people that are hurt is the guy building the set for the movie, the person mixing the music, the person doing maintainance on the phone towers. In the end, you hurt everyone else because the magor players in the equation are going to get their money, but they are going to raise the prices for everyone else to do it. So, those who copy dvds for their buddy or download it from the net, the person who jailbreaks their device to use it however they think they should be able to, they cause everyon...

you could do that, but Verizon reserves the right to terminate your line if you're tethering without paying for it.

I have a jailbroken iphone on at&t. I use the MyWi all the time and I average about 12 gigs a month. I've been doing this for about a year now and at&t has not said a word. My bill is already 200 a month so i cant afford to spend another 60 for tethering. This program works great 😁

It works great as long as you don't get caught. Verizon is not ATT. And maybe they did know what you were using, but left it alone because they had other issues. It's important for people to understand that if they use an app like this, it can have some great benefits, but there can be costs that they have to accept as well.
