The 9650 and Curve 3G were both produced with the intent of eventually upgrading them to 6.0, so the only possible reason for the delay is Verizon, no doubt doing testing to make sure it worked, didin't harm the network, and to train their technical support crew so they can support it.
I think OS 6 is a dramatic improvement and really like it. What do you think of it so far?

You might want to have your charger nearby. The download and installation drained my battery down to %10!

You will eventually realize that ALL of the old BB ringtones and sounds are gone!

from your Blackberry, you can do an OTA download and install, it will restore the old sounds and keep the new ones as well.
