It can be done but it is generally discouraged by corporate because it can lead to abuses such as payment fraud and equipment fraud and the like.
In short, you probably won't be able to get it done without throwing a gigantic temper tantrum, and even then only an extremely knowledgeable agent would be able to do it for you.
