MetroPCS Sues FCC Over Net Neutrality, Too
Oh how come...........
When VZN wants to sue the FCC we get a crapstorm of people bashing them. But when Metro PCS does we dont hear a peep pfft!

Because people around here hate VZW for one sole reason...it's a large capitalist corporation that employs thousands of people, connects millions, and brings in more revenue than the burger flippers and taco stuffers around here could ever dream of having a piece of. Metro hasn't reached the "evil corporation" status yet.

What I would really like to know is how a government agency abusing its authority to give itself additional power after both the courts and the Congress have smacked it down and told it 'no' could possibly be less of a threat to our personal liberty than a corporation which has no control over anybody unless they voluntarily choose to cede it by entering into a completely voluntary business transaction.
The FCC is starting to become a rogue agency, and it needs to be reined in if not simply abolished outright.

I cannot disagree any more with MetroPCS's position on this any more than I do with VZW's. I voiced my concern many times on Phone Scoop's news article as well as voiced my concern to the FCC.
The carriers should not be allowed to sequester publicly owned domains. If they want to regulate their own "proprietary" operating products or services, that is one thing. However, the internet is NOT proprietary or indigenous to one carrier. It is a world wide accessible domain owned by the public for everyone. Why would anyone who uses the internet want to give up this right?
This is carriers simply trying to take what is ours and turn it into cash for themselves.
The infancy stages of the wireless industry, is shining through like a spoil...

Since when is the Internet public domain? It's NOT. You don't own my website, I do. You don't own my servers, I do. You don't own the access that Comcast, Time Warner, and others do, THEY do. You don't own their infrastructure, THEY do.

I'm not exactly sure what your MO is here. You either own one of the said carriers or you have been hired internally within a carrier to monitor these forums to rally for said carriers. You may even hold a massive amount of stock in one of said carriers. While most of your points are intellectual, there seems to be an offset of dictatorship for self-satisfaction.

The people have a right and a duty to regulate the conduct of business. Your narrow, shortsighted, and frankly wrong interpretation of the constitution would exclude anti trust laws, interstate commerce laws and other principles that have been part of the American fabric since the west was settled. And by the way, have you ever heard of an easement? People cannot always do whatever they want with private property.

Indeed. Establishing rules & regulations is part of living in a civilized society. And corporations that run counter to the public good should appreciate this because regulation enforcement surely is better than torches, pitchforks, and violent nationalization.
