Nokia Cancels X7 for AT&T
I guess if it worked for the Sham-WOW
Oh, except their last two or three attempts at marketing focused on a sport most Americans tend to ignore, soccer.
And the software is crap anyway. I personally haven't heard a single person comment "oh hey, I want a Nokia phone because it's easy to use or does a lot of stuff, or its unique and intuitive".

Yes, software must be crap considering they overhauled the whole OS, of which 99% of people that seem to comment on Nokia have NEVER tried.
True, and also true about 70% of s60v3 owners didn't either. I happen to have used it for several years. I think in its day and age it was great. Now its time for a change. I don't think ^3 underneath is much improved, some nice touches with the touch screen, made it a bit more useable. But it pales compared to Android and iOS. If Nokia wants me back, they need to put out some Meego devices.
Maybe not, but I have heard many people say 'I want a Nokia phone because they have great internal antennae, get great reception and rarely drop calls'
I no longer work in the wireless industry but when I did I always used to recommend Nokia's to customers who complained about dropped calls. I never once had one come back and say I made a recommendation, but I did have many come back and thank me for fixing their dropped calls problem.
and at least for the north american market, they're not doing anything.
granted they're still a large company and they're not going anywhere, but for those of us in NA, nokia is not a brand to put a lot of stock in.
Maybe you want them to take a page from the Samsung playbook... make a poor quality phone and then put it in 35 different shells, sell the carriers on the lower price point and the price-conscious/feature-hungry consumers will overlook the poor quality.
Note to Samsung: "you can color that turd any color you want, it's still a turd!"
